Growing up in Nairobi in the 90's TV used to be a luxury for some of us, for a while we had to watch at the neighbors , then our parents had mercy on us and bought a red gratewall that we cherished dearly.
I was living with my aunt at the time and regardless of what other things in the house had cost, the red gratewall tv was the most cherished of them all. Maybe this is becuase we treat every new possession like its our only possession until something else replaces it or just beause we were fascinated by the people on the other side of the screen.
